You never know when the right opportunity will land in your lap.
In fact, most people give up when they’re closer than they could imagine to success. Maybe you feel like you never get lucky. Stories like this are for other people, but not for you. Why is this?
It’s simple.
You’re not looking in the right places.
And you are giving up too soon.
Here are 5 of my favorite ways to find new writing opportunities, many of which turned into long-term clients.
Subscribe. Subscribe. Subscribe.
The more email newsletters you subscribe to the more opportunities that will come your way.
I also find that since these are usually for small businesses or solopreneurs, the application and hiring process is often simple and straightforward.
For example, I recently came across a blogging opportunity in a newsletter and was able to apply in under 10 minutes.
In most instances, you will just need to submit basic information and a few recent writing samples.
When you find a person or newsletter that resonates with you, don’t be shy about subscribing.
Often these opportunities are not posted publicly so unless you are a subscriber you won’t even know that the opportunity exists.
Keep a few writing samples on hand so you’ll be ready to apply immediately when you find a good opportunity.
