Drunken Delta Frequent Flyer Accosts Flight Attendant

A drunken elite Delta Airlines frequent flyer thought he’d booked a kissing class seat after he made his move on a flight attendant he fancied. Now, he’s facing criminal charges in an Alaska court.

David Alan Burk, a 61-year-old male traveler who was flying from the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport destined for Alaska, has found himself in some hot water after being accused of interfering with the flight crew and making false statements.

The incident stems from an in-flight incident where Burk allegedly kissed a flight attendant that he’d taken a fancy to. The same flight attendant initially denied Burk something to drink before takeoff due to time constraints, however, once the flight was underway, was the serving flight attendant for Burk’s seat.

After consuming a few glasses of wine, Burk left his seat to use the lavatory and passed the flight attendant in the galley where he complimented the Delta employee, noting, “You are so beautiful.”

To which the flight attendant replied, “Thank you.”

Burk then asked if he could kiss the flight attendant who quickly said no.

Unfazed, Burk is alleged to have leaned in, grabbed the flight attendant and kissed him on the neck.

Flustered, the flight attendant went to the back of the plane and switched duty stations with another member, however, the unusual story continues. The flight attendant briefly returned to the front of the plane only to find a tray of food prepared for the pilots broken. Another member of the flight attendant team noted that Burk had broken it.

Soon, Burk passed out for the remainder of the flight and after arriving in Alaska was met by authorities and detained despite his protestations that his Delta Frequent Flyer status accommodated his boorish behavior.

He faces charges of interfering with a crewmember and making false statements. The final arrest report can be viewed here.
