During this time, he has been additionally active as a partner and chief risk officer for global business services, mortgage and lending solutions with IBM since 2016. Mr. Lofe previously served in multiple positions with the Low Income Investment Fund between 2013 and 2016, such as the executive vice president, the chief financial officer and the chief administrative officer.
Prior to these appointments, Mr. Lofe worked as the executive vice president, the chief financial officer and the chief administrative officer for The PMI Group Inc. in Walnut Creek, California from 2011 to 2013. He found further success as the senior vice president of corporate finance with CNA Financial Corporation in Chicago, Illinois between 1998 and 2002. Mr. Lofe began his career as an engagement partner and partner with PwC in Cleveland, Ohio from 1991 to 1998.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Lofe pursued an education at Westminster College, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in accounting and political science in 1979. He concluded his formal studies at the University of Chicago in 1992, graduating from the Booth School of Business with a Master of Business Administration in finance and business policy. In addition to these accomplishments, Mr. Lofe garnered multiple certifications from The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, including as a public accountant in 1984, a chartered global management accountant in 2014 and the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations certification in 2017.
Attributing his success to his exceptional upbringing, his stellar work ethic and the unwavering support of his family, Mr. Lofe was notably presented with the Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award from Westminster College in 2011. That same year, he was nominated as the Chief Financial Officer of the Year by the San Francisco Business Times and the American City Business Journals. Moreover, he was recognized as a Two-Time All-American at the National Indoor Track and Field Championships by the NAIA in 1979 and celebrated among the 100 Most Influential People in Finance by Treasury & Risk Magazine in 2010. Looking toward the future, Mr. Lofe hopes to implement a detailed, complex strategic and financial plan for Westminster College while maintaining a board position and dedicating his spare time to giving back to those in need.
