Youlanda Michelle Gibbons, PhD, chief executive officer and founder of Partnership for Inclusion Leadership, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the nonprofit industry.

Drawing on several decades of experience, Dr. Gibbons currently excels as the chief executive officer and executive director of Partnership for Inclusion Leadership. She originally founded the organization in 2012 as a means to develop nonprofit and civic-minded initiatives aimed at improving diversity and inclusion, instruction policy, and military education and training. As part of her duties in the field, she primarily works alongside the Office of the Secretary, as part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Department of Defense. Dr. Gibbons also remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including the American Sociological Association, The Association of Black Sociologists and the American Association of University Women.

Having previously pursued a formal education, Dr. Gibbons holds several academic degrees. To wit, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and human development at Mercer University, a Master of Social Work at Boston University, a Master of Science in public health at Harvard University, and a PhD in sociology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Well-regarded for her practiced expertise and extensive knowledgeability in her field, she has been honored with several accolades over the course of her career, including both the Women Worth Watching Leadership Award and the Black Leadership Award from Profiles in Diversity Journal in 2022. In light of her fulfilling career, Dr. Gibbons has largely attributed her success to the efforts of President Barack Obama, which ensured the upholding of civil rights and allowed her to seize her own opportunities in her field.
