Yahaira Soto, Hispanic Liaison for the City of Cleveland Department of Aging, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in public service.

Fueled by a desire to help others, Ms. Soto has excelled as the Hispanic liaison for the City of Cleveland Department of Aging since 2019. In her community-driven role, she advocates for her community, as well as provides the Hispanic community with assistance in navigating the housing market in the area. Over the years, she has assisted numerous people from Puerto Rico who were impacted by Hurricane Maria in finding housing for themselves and their families. Additionally, Ms. Soto organized an event where the families got “adopted” by different agencies during the Christmas season.

Prior to her current post, Ms. Soto gained expertise in public service with the nonprofit agency Spanish American Committee and the staffing agency Amotec. She had also contributed to HEAP/PIPP, the City of Cleveland Hispanic Heritage Month as an interpreter and a home assistance program as a Hispanic liaison. At the civic level, she is a volunteer at a local homeless shelter and various children’s events. To prepare for her career, Ms. Soto earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in 2008.

Finding vast success throughout her endeavors, Ms. Soto has received employee recognition in 2022 during Hispanic Heritage Month from the City of Cleveland and was interviewed by Telemundo during that same time. Likewise, she has twice been featured in Revista Enterese, published by the Cleveland City Department of Aging. In a career filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in helping others and credits her success to her family’s steadfast support. In the coming years, Ms. Soto ambitions include completing a master’s degree, continuing her community service and working in the field of immigration.
