torches English National Team player over World Cup move

November 20, 2022
in Business Travel

English National team soccer player Declan Rice made the news recently when he brought an empty suitcase with him to the World Cup tournament to bring home the trophy in. The always-salty Irish airline Ryanair promptly torched him for it.

The greatest sporting event known to humankind is upon us (finally!) and as players make their way to Qatar in preparing for the World Cup, some players are making waves for their travel moves. Declan Rice, an English National Team player did just that when he brought an empty suitcase with him that he plans to bring the World Cup trophy home in.

Never one to miss an opportunity to have a little fun with the Brits, Irish airline Ryanair promptly torched Declan on Twitter with the sick burn: “Shame the case will end up in Argentina.”

No chill. No chill whatsoever.

But a sick burn nonetheless.

Perhaps they are still salty because Ireland didn’t even qualify for the World Cup this time around? Maybe…perhaps.

Ryanair’s social media team is renowned for its hot takes and salty burns. The company frequently roasts political leaders, competition and anyone in between.

The English National Team is in Group B of the tournament along with the United States giving the English an excellent chance to burst out of this weak division into the next round. England plays their first game on Monday, November 21 against Iran.
