Bishop Simon Gordon, MSc, Chairman of the Total Resource Community Development Organization and Bishop at the Triedstone Church of Chicago, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nonprofit work and ministerial service.
Holding a master’s degree in religious studies from Trinity College, Mr. Gordon has served the Triedstone Church of Chicago as a bishop since 1989. Since 1999, he has been the chairman of the Total Resource Community Development Organization, a nonprofit that offers many services, including HUD housing counseling, community health research, health awareness sessions, health screenings, youth music programs, youth mentoring programs, and a food pantry, among other services. Prior to these posts, Mr. Gordon was a Midwest regional bishop with the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship for more than 20 years.
An accomplished author, Mr. Gordon is the author of “Walk in the Spirit,” “Seven Habits of Highly Effective Christians,” and “Carrying the Flame: Balancing the Father’s Business for All Levels of Leadership,” among other works. He was named a regent of the Midwest Theology Seminary and has received a Paul Kelly Service Award, the President’s Award from the United Theological Seminary, and two Path Awards from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Mr. Gordon maintains membership in the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship, the board of the Tehillah Music Group, and Pastors 4 Patient-Centered Outcomes Research. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, exploring, history, and learning about other cultures and people. In the coming years, Mr. Gordon hopes to see his work continue to improve his community.
