Like nearly all airlines and travel companies these days, United Airlines simply can’t hire people fast enough. Pent-up post-pandemic travel demand combined with rising inflation and an uber-competitive job market have created the perfect storm making it harder than ever to find and keep qualified talent. This means companies are finding themselves getting more creative than ever in their recruiting efforts.
For example, one European hotel company is offering to fund a tattoo for employees who join and stay for at least six months while others are offering big sign-on bonuses.

There are multiple job openings across the spectrum of roles and locations and some of them are offering interesting incentives.
For example, one part-time position as a Ramp Service Employee at the San Francisco Airport offers $19.65/hr to start out and a $10,000 signing bonus. 20 bucks an hour for a part-time Union job with a 10k bonus is pretty interesting. We were not able to find out any specific terms and conditions about the role, but we presume there is some sort of time commitment the employee has to make (this is common for signing bonuses).
Bottom line? For someone looking to make the move into the travel industry, this could be a great time to land a solid union job with relatively decent benefits, competitive pay, and some never-seen-before bonuses. And for those looking to pick up some part-time work a few shifts a week loading luggage or working a customer service queue could add some much-needed dollars to the monthly coffers.
